This month’s book is by Stieg Larsson. And although some of us have been told that the first 100 pages are slow- the story picks up! Let’s see what happens!

I’m slowly getting through those first 100 pages…still not to the exciting part yet but thinking three encouragements to keep reading must mean there is a light at the end of this slow start tunnel! Already better than Ten Year Nap! Can’t wait for club meeting, hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Okay, finished last week and am very glad I made it through the first 100 pages and kept going. Now I want to read the sequel because really, does her love story actually end that way?? Now, however, I’m totally wrapped up in these smutty Black Dagger Brotherhood novels. I’ve got to stop because I’m ignoring my everyday duties to sit and read these trashy books but when I finish one I have to run right out and get the next. I’ve finally stopped at three and have the fourth one on request at the library and I am NOT going to the bookstore! Instead I’m going to try to finish A Prayer for Owen Meany, one of Amy’s favorite books and my boss’s too so maybe I just have to get past those first 100 pages like Girl with the Dragon Tatoo! Can’t wait to see everyone Thursday.

Hey girls, So i finished the book. I will saw that first 100 pages are a little rough… I think I feel asleep a couple of times. However once Salander came into the book- a complete turn around! I’m with Jill and thinking about picking up the sequel… See you girls Thursday!

LOVED this book. Great combination of mystery, suspense, family drama and corporate scandal. I was actually sort of glad to be stuck on the runway yesterday so I could finish this. Sorry I missed you all last night.

Hello Ladies! I hope that everyone stayed warm this weekend! Thursday was just a few days ago and I already feel like it was ages ago! We met at Mamma Riccotas. It was a night filled with good food and wine. After a brief discussion we reminded Shobha that we have been there before… even though she has been telling everyone that she never has been there! after the Late comers showed… boy talk about needing to adjust everyone’s clocks! ;-)… we finally were able to start discussing The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and a certain walk- or was that a crawl of Fame???!!! (Just Kidding…I love ya sweets!) TGWTDT was a book filled with everything from corrupt corporations, dysfunctional families, murders, sex and love. We all agreed that the book was hard to read for the first 100-150 pages but then picked up and grabbed our attention! The questions were fabulous and since many of us read the book we asked away! No % here this time- we just kept asking! and we found out some interesting facts!
1. The book was originally going to be called “Men who hate women”
2. Mr. Larsson was extremely unhappy with the translated book (Into english) He felt as though many places were left unfulfilled and not really capturing the true meanings or scenes.
3. Prostitution is Legal in Sweden, but buying is not… hmmm a think one phrase that summed up the night was “You ain’t selling if no one is buyin!”
and something new- this book and the trilogy (Yes Trilogy) were made into a movie!!! I’m looking now!!
This book received an all around thumbs up! Which means– it has made it to the Best of page on Dineandopine.com!
